I think I was getting same error and just got the game on steam for pretty cheap. Runs fine.
You should use the latest Steam release of BoneTown:
Others - Completed - BoneTown: The Second Coming Edition [Final] [D-Dub Software] | F95zone
For anyone who still wants to play the original BoneCraft here is the crack FIXED go Nuts, there are a little differences between the 2 versions of both games with steam versions.

I found it on another website and I'm still using it but it's not mine. by the way, all the cracks will be flagged as a virus.
tbh I'm losing my mind on these settings for Bonecraft.
Bonetown runs perfectly at max settings and high resolution on my pc, but Bonecraft crashes to desktop within a minute regardless of resolution, framerate, vsync, etc. Unsure if I'm just doing something wrong or the game is truly just that unoptimized.
